Troubleshooting: 2000 Accord turbo w/ unstable idle under 3000K
Hello all. I have a 2000 Accord manual with a built motor and a turbo setup. The built motor only has about 3,000 miles on it. I've been experiencing a problem with stutter and bouncing RPMs lately.
There are no issues at idle, but while steadily driving anywhere from 25-45 mph, and mostly in any gear, at around 2800-3000 RPMs, the needle will steadily bounce up and down throughout a 200-300RPM range and the car stutters while doing so. Anything over 3000, there is ZERO issue. Just to rule them out, the IACV is a converted 2-wire (for OBDI compatibility), the fuel pump is new (a Walbro 255), new ID 1000cc injectors, wires, plugs and a boat load of other performance parts. I've read a few posts online that point to a distributor issue. Can anyone shed some light on this as to a starting point to diagnose or is this a common problem any of you have experienced? |

Have you had the car tuned? What AFR's are you seeing in that RPM range? Any data logs?
There's a few different things that could cause stutters or jumping in the mid range. Either fuel or ignition related, no way of telling at this point. |
