Just got my D16 turboed stock everything block and head
60-1 turbonetics hifi
walbro fuel pump
RC440 injectors
Phearable basemap
tial wg with 8lb spring
idleing it sits 14.3-14.8
crusing around its 15-15.8 say just crusing at 60mph
get into boost it goes to 12.5-13.4 then once i get full boost it goes 14.8-15.5
seems like longer i hold boost the higher it goes i let off when i saw it going for 15
If its not the tune what else could there be that im overlooking

Get a real tune dude. You're using a base map.

A basemap IS NOT a tune. Are you trying to blow your **** up? Do you plan on running a real EMS?

There is no "tune" a base map is just that... a base. It's a generic start up map to check the car and get it to a tuner

Your idle and cruising ratio's are actually quite good, whether set up or not. But as others have said, dont push into boost if its going that lean. I would check the plugs carefully right now, I bet they are spotted really bad. And speaking of plugs try a step or two colder and then get the low - high load tune sorted.
ya trying to get it to the tuner then weekend.. was just trying to get into boost a little to check and make sure there were no leaks

Well with an AFR in the 15s you'll melt pretty much everything in the motor.... the egts had to be through the roof... like 2000+
ya it was pretty hot under there .lol no more boost for me

I think the "base maps" need to come with boost cut at 1 psi so they can't even boost it and need to go straight to tuner

no joke the last "base map" i left on a friends ecu before we could tune the boost portion had boost cut at 3 psi.Originally Posted by Turbo-LS

im also equally as worried about why the hell you are running a 60-1 on a stock d series. your full boost must be from 6000-7000 rpm which is again way to high to be revving out a basemap imo. in for that popcorn and maybe some oversized soda

They always say something like this. Why?Originally Posted by Mobeious

Could this also be a fuel pump if there isn't boost creep and the afr is rising?

NO he's on a basemap.... that's all there is to it

this reminds of when a guys tune fell out of his car. he couldn't race..

I haven't had a fuel pump fail but isn't it typically obvious when the pump is failing, loss of fuel is pretty dramatic compared to barely not enough fuel....bc he has plenty fuel pump and injector size....and that's all assuming it was actually tuned which it is not.
only reason i have the 60-1 is because i couldnt pass up the deal and read in a few threads of D16's getting full boost on that turbo around 4500 which im ok with .. but after talking to my tuner he also said that it would prolly be full boost in the 6000 area which im not ok with ... also pulled one of the plugs and it was burnt pretty bad ...a lot of white on it .. thats obvious with running so lean and hot .. ... think i might try a garrett 42/48 since im not trying to set HP records and this is just a play car
