I have a tdo5 16g and my friend has a greedy td05 18g. My friend dropped his turbo and the housing cracked on the exhaust side where the downpipe connects to. My question is if I could take his 18g compressor and swap it fo my 16g into my tdo5 housing.

No. You cannot simply swap it, for the compressor wheel is of a different size on the 18G than the 16G. You must appropriately machine hone the compressor cover to fit. The same goes for the exhaust housing.
