Default Superchargers?

I've been looking through the site and i hear very little about superchargers, why is that? Im thinking about putting a Jackson Supercharger w/ power card on my '98 integra gsr. are superchargers dependable or will it destroy my engine? and what about price. Since I only want my car to have about 10psi and since i also have the vtec at higher rpm's I think this is the best and cheapest way to do it. Agree or Disagree?

also as far as the price in the end FI is going to cost ya maybe 500 dollor diffrence but if your just looking for a little bup and dont want to spend alot i would say get the jrsc or the greddy kit with an intercooler the reason that is pulling me away from the jrsc is no cooling system and with that ten pd pully you may run into some heat problems...oh yeah you "bit-N off my name just joking"

There are several reasons you don't hear much about superchargers on this forum:

1) Turbochargers are more efficient.

2) Most of the built engines here are running to 9000 RPM or nearby. At that speed the supercharger is producing a huge strain on the crankshaft.

3) Generally it is cheaper and easier to go turbo. Building a turbo kit from scratch is not hard. Hell, I did it. Plus, with a little welding, they can go on any engine. Superchargers require much more fabrication. Also, they are limited in where they can be placed in the engine compartment. A turbo can go anywhere there is room.
