.030 is whats recommended when boosting, and make sure you get NGK's

BCPRES-11. They're cold spark plugs and I love them. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

ChadB May 27, 2004 10:30 AM

I had a set of NGK and fouled them out.. I just bought a set on Denso... So 30 should be good...

Hold on here.....
What motor are you talking about?

Because the GSR needs a minimum of .050" or else you'll get some serious stuttering, and the b16 is recommended to run an .044"

WTF motors are you guys running .028" on?

Were running FORCED INDUCTION cars here, no matter what honda engine you have. Some where between .028-.030 gap is recommended for turbo's. Stock NKG's for a Gsr .052 and stock b16 NGK's .044.

Hypa get you a set of stock plugs for your turbo car, retard the time by 4 degrees after it's been on stock timing, gap your engine size .044 or .050", put your car in 4th gear and try to drive it, with the timing and gap like that. You will be going nowhere fast trust me!! http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

Re: (lexvdub1)

On high boost we've had to go down to 0.018" (seems insanely tight huh) but in general anywhere from 0.022-0.030" even with higher power 150mJ+ ignitions.

I'm going to have to mess around with my gaps after reading this.
I'm sitting at about .050 right now, and it finally idles properly, and makes wicked power all the way through (dyno'd in 4th gear).

I guess all setups are different.

Re: (boostedb20vtec)

Stock B16A2 plugs should be gapped @ .051", not .044" that's for D16Y5, D16Y7 and D16Y8.

Helms 96-00 page 23-111 https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

Again this is for a STOCK car otherwise .028"-.030" is what I use https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
