Default Sorry for the stupid question but....

Does the fuel pressure gauge mount in the engine compartment on the fpr? Do I have a choice as to where it goes (inside the car). I am assuming I don't need to keep an eye on the gauge after the car has been tuned. Am I totally off on this. Thanks, trying to learn.

There are different places to mount a gauge. An easy place is to put one on the fuel rail if you have an aftermarket rail like AEM that has provisions for a gauge.

I have the AEM fpr as well as the fuel rail. Is it easiest to put it on the fuel rail? Thanks for the reply.

You don't really want a fuel gauge 'in car', remember having the gauge in car means fuel lines must be run 'in car'....

exactly. it's very dangerous to have a fuel gauge in the car.

I agree. Did you know they actually had little refrigerators in cars that were cooled by running the fuel line through them?

Ah I thought since it was an electronic gauge, it would use some sort of sensor. I haven't even opened up the boxes to see. Thanks for the answer guys.

Ya, what the hell are you people talking about?

There are in cockpit electrical gauges, which is what I assume you have. If not, it'll be a small thing with only a 1/8" npt fitting on the back. The electrical sender for the in cockpit gauges from Autometer has a 1/8"npt fitting as well. Since you have an AEM rail which has a 1/8" NPT port already on it, yes, it's easiest to mount the sender there.

Outside of tuning and setting base pressure, the fuel pressure gauges works as a warning system, just like most of the other gauges. It's there to tell you that everything is running normaly.
