Default Snap Ring On BOV

Yesterday I decided to remove my bov and do the oil thing that was posted awhile back. After spending 1.5hrs and breaking the tips on my snap ring tool I go the bov in. I was wondering if there was a special brand snap ring tool or a special way of installing the bov so the next time I pull it out it won't be a PITA. This isn't the first time I pulled out the bov, but all those other times I still had a hard time taking it out and putting it back in.

Yup the HKS SS. I already broke 3 sets of tips working on that ring They are Craftsmans so I can get new tips on warranty, but if they are gonna break all the time I might as well get a better set or do something different.
