I got a really good deal on a Jackson Racing supercharger (although it is not my first choice), and I would like to know what you guys think is the best tranny to go with it. I've read up on people w/ turbo LS setups, and they continue to use the LS tranny because of the longer gearing. Is supercharging it the same way too? Or should I get a b16 tranny?

ls... if you were reving out to 8k+ then maybe an si or gsr.

 

I have a GSR tranny on mine with an LS 5th in it. The 3rd gear is really long in the LS and after I put the GSR trans in I am much happier. 3rd gear now revs out at 80 instead of 90. In short, I would recommend it for a JRSCed LS. The B16 tranny will be a little too short for a stock LS redline I think.

 

even with built setups running 120+ mph, I would still prefer the b16 or gsr gearing over the LS. Although, having the LS 5th gear is nice for cruising.

 

shorter gears, faster accel.
Longer gears, longer time to accel.

Find the medium, taking into consideration ur power placement and rev limit.
