Quick question on head assembly

Put my head back together (type r), but I could have sworn that there was a dowell or some small pin that goes inside the vtec o-ring? Am I right or am I just crazy?

there are the 2 vtec pins on the side and in the middle there is that dowel u speak off with an o-ring around it
