Default questions on 2000cc ID injectors.

Hello,

I am looking into buying injectors and I ran into another honda guy at the dyno, he has a set of ID2000s . He said they are great condition for $600. Now I was planning on going pump gas on 1000cc injectors but if I can nab these I was wondering what the HP capabilities were on E85.

Build is fully built at 84mm
Lsvtec running borg warner s360

Now not sure on if this would be the better route or if this would be a headache. Car will be driven frequently.

Questions are, what is the maintenence like on these, Can i daily it, and how often do injectors need to be cleaned,

How long can the fuel sit in the fuel tank before it separates (2 months?)

Can the Hondata S300 support dual tunes, one for e85 and one for Pump 91 if E85 is not available? (Flex fuel sensor?)

I think I recall riceball777 saying that the 2000s he had were completely no dailable... super rough idles and whatnot. Might be better to get something smaller, I know Lightning teg is running 1400s on e85 at 600whp

Mine idle like stock. I would definitely buy them.

T1 did a test when they first came out on a bone stock integra idling fine on them.

My FiveOhMotorsports 1400's, however, have a hard time at idle at low pulse widths.

Default questions on 2000cc ID injectors.

Someone had issues with pumpgas and id2000s. Basically, they were so large that they couldnt get the pulse width low enough to get idle and cruise above like, 12:1. On e85 though theyre perfect as far as streetability.

I run ID 2000's and they can idle fine on both. Now ID 1000's can support about 650whp on E85 and that was maxing them out. ID 2000's I have ran over 800whp on E98 and there is plenty of room left.

So, if you do not plan on running more than 650whp just get ID1000's, if you plan on running more then that get ID 2000's

Wow are you serious? I would think that 600 or less would be maxxing out 1000s on pump fuel...I honestly thought I would max around 4-450 on e85 with my deatschwerks.

fuel pressure and voltage supply increases/decreases injector duty cycle up to a point.

650 maybe with some jacked up base pressure to the moon and a pump that can support it.

I know PTE injectors arent quite ID's, but I maxxed out my 1000's at 450whp with a Walbro 255, and 560whp with Walbro 450. I could see 600 out of ID's with the 450. But to design a setup based on undersizing the injectors and simply increasing the base pressure would be foolish IMO

PTE are aweful injectors lol. every single car I tuned back in the day those injectors larger than 525cc all idled like complete garbage. the only way they would remotely idle somewhat decent was at 11.5:1 or 12:1 AFR. I always knew how a tune was going to go when they showed up with them.

I had it pushed to 100 psi, sounds a bit crazy but it worked/idled and ran just fine. ID injectors are just that good, however when I changed over to an FCS tank, dual 044's all new fuel lines I changed to ID2000's because I knew I was going for a lot more than 650whp.

This is not hear say/guessing or going off of pieces of paper, this is actual experience/dyno/street driving and quarter mile proven.

Im not denying that. Im just saying you should size the injector around the fuel pressure and not the other way around.

Thank you for the kind responses, I feel I will try them out. 500hp on the street is my goal, if I can run these with both 91 and e85 would be great. Now I have to figure out how I can flip from pump to e85 on the hondata s300 . I have always had chrome, but now I went s300 with boost by gear. Should be great fun , hurting feelings XD.

Should be able to activate Secondary maps by using GPO (General purpose output) with a simple switch

Or Use the GM flex sensor if you are using the V3.

Just remember they don't like MTBE so running your normal "race fuel" won't be an option.

Those "Precisions" were nothing but Delphi Injectors. Anything over 525cc needed a resistor box due to the low impedence (under 12ohms). I never found a problem with them for years. Many Mustangs used them with great success. I used them myself on a few Hondas, no problem, especially when sized with base fuel pressure in mind

I wouldn't say I had a "problem" with them per sae, but the idle properties were pretty terrible and they were inefficient. When I started moving customers to newer injector technology, it was a night and day difference

This isn't true. You can run fuel with MTBE, but you need to remember the swell reduces flow of the injector. It'll act like a 1800cc injector in the end.
