Default question bout my type s bov

personally dont know what hard or soft setting means cause my friend gave it to me. i run 8-10 lbs of boost. and if i set it too soft it echos through the champer and creates this ringing in the ear sound, please if any body ran into the same problem or knows how to set it please post.

the more you screw it in the more it will tighten it, making it harder to open, making the sound quieter, the less you have it makes it easier to open which usually will make it louder.

From what I notice if you running low boost with the type s. You have to remove the hard spring and leave the soft spring in to stop the compressor surge . When the hard spring is removed. I turned the bolt 5 full turns.

As for the ringing sound i have no idea what it could be, if its like a fluttering noise its compressor surge, but i have never heard of it described that way. Any other way to describe the sound you are hearin?, if its a howling sound thats your turbo, and thats not a good sound to hear from your turbo

does it make the same sound when you hit full boost
or does it only do it when you hit 1-3psi and let off the gas
