Question about CP pistons...

Do the honda applications come with an offset wrist pin?

Simple question, that I couldn't find on their website.

Thanks,
Bryson

I think Wisecos are offset but not CP or JE. CP does not believe off setting is of any benefit to a performance piston.

Yeah, I knew wisecos were, but I was just wondering if CPs were since they stock an off the shelf 84.5mm piston, but wiseco does not.

I think the offset wrist pin helps engine longevity by keeping the pistons from rocking in the bore. If you think about it, all of the stock Honda pistons have an offset wrist pin.

Re: (Bryson)

Rocking is a problem with oem honda pistons but not aftermarkets. Wiseco just copied the oem design. I have never seen any evidence in my own race motors of rocking pistons and CP says it won't happen. There is a reason that all the major players do not use offset pins. It would not cost anymore to build them with an offset if that was important.

Hrmm...interesting. Why would rocking be a problem with oem but not aftermarket?

cast aluminum strength compare to forged aluminum, I believe, along with clearances used.

Hrmm...I thought it would have had more of an issue with cylinder wall wear, than strength?
