profec b spec 2 settings on d16z
START BOOST should not be at 80%. I build boost perfectly with my settings and my START BOOST isnt anywhere near 80%. If anything turn up the GAIN setting by 2%.
Yeah I figured that out just now, It boosts way too much, so I'll turn it back down to 60. As for not building boost, well I think the car is doing much better now, except I keep getting a check engine light. I have been using the boost controller to see what I am boosting at, but if I look at the boost guage (it might be broken) I build boost really quick, I got to 11psi by 4-5k rpms. A couple more test runs and a day on the dyno and I should have it all figured out.
On your solenoid valve, the unit in the engine bay. do you have the third, extra hole pluged up? Or did you take the cap off?
Also what color and/or position on a p28 is the speed sensor wire, I am having probelms with my greddy turbo timer, it counts down but the car turns off like normal. When the timer runs out all the acc turns off.

Can't help ya with the turbo timer but I kept the unused port plugged up. Glad to hear things are better for you. BTW 60% is still way too much for START BOOST. Like I said before, you want to adjust the GAIN setting to control how fast you build boost.
OK well everything is working better, still need more time tuning, the electronic boost guage shows a very different boost from the autometer one. My max boost I'm trying to reach for low is 8psi, but I keep running over it. Could it be a vacum line, or should I just keep adjusting the % value.
well it depends on what your max boost is. mine is 20 psi, so to figure out %, just divide what psi you want into your max boost. ie. I want 8 psi, so I divide 8 into 20 (8/20=.4 or 40%) For you, 15 is max, so 8/15=.53 or 53%.
ok theres 3 settings you have
One is the %, thats the setting you have when you just turn the dial without pressing mode. This % controls the boost percentage. If you set to 52% of 15psi spring that would mean you are boosting 8psi.
press mode once and you get to the gain. Start that at 10%, and change it by 2% increaments. up if boost lag is high, and down if boost spike occurs
Set gain, press mode twice. Tells your controller to keep the wastegate shut until this point. This setting is in psi, not %. set it about 2 psi lower then what you want to boost. You might have to mess around with this one too. So for 8psi, you would set it to 80. The EBC reads psi in 10's. CORRECTION, 60 not 80 is 2 psi lower, but you get the point

Nice.
Yo Hella JDM it's trial and error man. Use what we have been telling you as a base and then street tune from there. You'll get it eventually man dont give up on it.
EDIT: You could also go back to KPA and you wont have to worry about setting psi 2 lower than your desired psi.

ya , i once had my gain up to 100 , boost % at 3 and start gain at 20......
ive tried all kinds of different extremes , but now im starting to get it

i am still confused... flat tire you said if you have a 15 psi spring and you have your set at 52 % thats 8 psi because 52 % of 15 is 7.8..... well you cant do that because you cant boost below your wastegate spring right? so what are you talking about...
i have a 7 psi spring in my wastegate and i had my gain at 20 % and my set gain at 160 which is suposed to be 16.0 psi and my regular set setting at all different settings such as 20% 30 % even 100 % and i still cant boost past 10 psi whenever i change the settings all it does is make my wastegate my weird noises noises i have never heard before...
and thats with me EBc hooked up like this:
i have the compressor vacuum line going to the side nipple of the wastegate with the NC vacuum hose Teed into the same hose of the compressor and side nipple of wastegate. then i have the COM side of the boost solonoid going to the vacuum port on teh top of my deltagate and no matter what i do i can not build more then 7-10 psi..
when i had it set up like this: NC side of solonoid to nipple on compressor housing and COM side of solonoid to side nipple of wastegate.. i could at least boost whatever i wanted but it was backwards... 100 % on profec b 2 was wastegate spring setting and 0 % was full boost..
what am i doing wrong?

well then you can set the % at 54% or 55%, it was rough math. Your right you cant boost under wastegate spring.
Do you have the limiter on?? not the warning but the mode past that. its also in %, maybe its set?
this is how I have mine set up. External tial wastegate w/8psi spring.
COM goes to the top of the wastegate
NC goes to a T. One vacum line goes to the side of the wastegate. The other line goes to a presure source, the charge side of the turbo.
It sounds like somethings wrong with your wastegate, not your ebc. Can you get a hold of antother one to test? like a friends?
