Default problems with my oil feed line/fitting

Im having problems with the T fitting. I cant seem to get this part screwed all the way in.

Here's what it looks like right now..

Do both peices have matching threads? (BST/NPT)

By the way... please don't use brass T's or fittings off the block. You'll be sorry.

This is because it is flared. It will tighten more and more as you torque on it. Do yourself a favor use a remote oil distribution or a sandwich adapter, that will break eventually with the vibration and rotation of the motor.

Yeah as long as you aren't hanging a heavy oil pressure sending unit off the brass T fiting it should be fine. Don't let them scare you. I, however, would also recommend the Golden Eagle oil sandwich plate in the future.

You'll find that alot of fittings don't thread all the way into another fitting. The flare on the male thread won't exactly be the same as the female fitting. As long as you assemble everything in a responsible manner, you won't have a problem with what you have.

On another note, it'll be impossible to install it all assembled anyway. Start with the first fitting going into the block and go from there.

thanks guys, i put some teflon tape and made it nice and snug. Hopefully it'll hold up. Still need to get my oil pan tapped, then i'll see if there's any leaks
