Default problems holding boost

we installed a turbo on my friends 95 civic ex a while back. it's a greddy kit with no intercooler. i want to say tdo4h maybe? came with the emanage and he's using a turbo xs manual boost controller and a turbo xs bov. i want to say he's running about 5 to 7 psi. he says that once the boost builds up it loses all psi and the CEL comes on. i haven't been in the car for a ride but my guess is the bov is jamming open once it reaches full boost. any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks guys

What code is it throwing? I doubt that the BOV is getting stuck open, but I would check to make sure all the vacuum lines going to everything off the IM are hose clamped.

do you have to run check valves with the greddy kits? (missing link) or does the emanage unit fix that?

it is throwing a map sensor. he's had the emanage checked by john hope who is the honda guy around our area and the wiring for that is fine.
