Precision 67/65 vs Turbonetics-HPC 64/65 Dyno

I've used both of these turbos on a lot of high HP car but havent had a chance to do both of them back to back.. here is a car that i finished up tonight on relatively low boost..

setup:
84x89 lsvtec
9.5 to 1 compression je pistons
eagle rods
stock port b16 head
stock b16 cams
Victorx intake
open T4 topmount
precsion 750 intercooler
E85
S300

67/65 is journal bearing with a .68 back housing
64/65 is ball bearing with a .81 back housing

both are on 18 psi

Should have used the .81 on both turbos. I believe they are interchangeable? I just picked up one for a customers car, good to see some number since I havent seen anyone else using these.

i did a back to back previously with the 67 with both rear housings...spool was even worse... no point comparing the 64 to that...

Good to know. Thanks for the comparison. Might have to try one of these 6465 in my own car.

Nice comparison, probably 100whp sitting on the table with a good cam swap, shame such a setup has the most horrible cam available in it.

Re: Precision 67/65 vs Turbonetics-HPC 64/65 Dyno

yeah its the billet Turbonetics... hard to say on higher boost levels, but i have made 850hp on the 64 before so i dont see it falling off too much compared to the 67 on higher boost

if the precision was a ball bearing turbo like the turbonetics one that would have made for more of a fair comparison as well... still interesting

Re: Precision 67/65 vs Turbonetics-HPC 64/65 Dyno

a lot of things could have made it more fair... same housings..bb..etc.. but these are the turbos i had. point was to show that the billet 64 is a very capable turbo
