Default Piston Rings Fudge UP!

I bought 81.50mm JE Pistons from Redline_Engineering a month or so ago. Well, they arrived with one ring set missing. No biggy. I contacted him to send me the missing piece. After difficult time getting a hold of him he tells me to call JE and order my rings and he will paypal me the money.

Today the ring set arrives from JE. As soon as i opened the box i knew they were wrong or i got fudged by Redline_Engineering. The oil ring is totally different!

Upon closer inspection I looked at the instructions that came with the pistons that Redline_Engineering sent me and it says WISECO on it!!!!!!!!!

How can I have JE Pistons with Wiseco rings? I have waited a very long time to get these in my block and it looks like its not going to happen. I have asked JE and they have said to only use JE rings with their pistons. And many others on HT board told me to get JE ones also. There is no way i am going to use 3 Wiseco ring sets and 1 JE ring set in my engine.

I have sent Theo (Redline_Engineering) details what is going on and I hope things get sorted out. If i knew these were wiseco rings with JE pistons i would have never bought it!

here are pics so u can judge for yourself:

hum.. that sucks man. i have wiseco pistons and ring, borred 10 over. the thing i like about them is there was no smoke during break-in period. I mean it smoked as the car burned the wwd40 in my cylinders. (used to keep the motor from rusting) but maybe for 5secs to. its been 4000miles and still no smoke

I'm dealing with theo on a messed up order from several months ago also. He closed down his store, but is trying to get the problem fixed at least.

Slightly off topic---but I just bought a set of JE's and they didnt come with rings. SHould I go with JE, or stock acura rings? I suppose the JE would be the right set of rings. Anyway, where is the best price to find them?? Again, sorry for being OT.

i bought my Quaife from Theo and it took over 2 months for me to receive it. Communication was VERY poor too! No responds to emails and no one picking up the phone. when i did get a hold of them i had to leave a msg with someone else and i NEVER got calls back.
But in the end...i DID get my Quaife.

I'm sure you can use the stock honda rings...that means that you won't have to file them

for anyone who needs RINGS.......contact Rocket in my sig. He is a Hastings dealer (they make them for JE). He has very good pricing!!!!!!

I have received faster response from theo in 1 day than i have in 1 month. he says he found the missing ring pack and i should return the JE ring set. there was no mention of the restocking loss, and shipping refund that i should get.

he tells me he bought these pistons off of Larry from Endyn and they came with the wiseco rings. Do you guys think i should use the Wiseco or go with JE rings?
