piston ???
I have a b18c and I want to install new pistons and rods je piston and eagle rods. I just want to know if I can take the stock pistons rods out and stick the forged ones in if you cant do that what mods do I need. I want to know if I can stay at 81mm and put the forged pistons in. thanks for any help that you guys can give!
Always Always have your motor re-honed after taking out rods and pistons and raplacing them with something new, if you dont the new rings will take on the old wear pattern of the old rings and make things pretty shitty as far as oil consumption and compression. A hone lets the new rings seat properly and keeps oil where it should be.
There is not enough discussion about proper engine ru-building on this site in my opinion, not enough people know that you need to have a fresh hone on your block if you are re-building and that proper machining isnt calculated in the budget of an engine re-build usually around $200-500
look into:
Boring
honing
decking
hot tanking
and make sure that all your measurements and tolerances are perfect.

Thanks for the imput I didnt know where to post this becuase it isnt talked about much. Which you are right! So you are saying that I can put forged 81mm pistons in I just need to hone the block, and that could cost anywhere from 200-500 dollars.
