pilot bearing removal
Is there a way to remove the pilot bearing without removing the flywheel, and without using a puller/slidehammer?
can it be pryed out w/ a screwdriver? |
Re: pilot bearing removal (DragII)
No, you cannot remove it without removing the flywheel.
Yes you can remove it without a puller/hammer, just use a large socket and a hammer, place it on the bearing and hit the socket. Use the same method to put the new bearing back into the flywheel. HTH |

Re: pilot bearing removal (DragII)
let me guess, you dont have 12pt sockets with 1/2" drive, well Snap-On is having a sale I think it'll only cost you an arm and a leg - if you have good insurance.

Re: pilot bearing removal (rtype11)
Heh unless you drill out the flywheel you have to take it off... since there is a lip that holds it against the crank...

Re: pilot bearing removal (dustin)
by the way, you only need to torque it to 118 Nm six times.
It's pretty hard when the engine is out of the car. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthdown.gif later, aj |
