Pics of Sleeper, what do you think?
I bought this 89 4 door civic last year. It was an auto, but me and my bro put the b18a in it and now it is manual
. We have recently been working on turboing this bad boy. Here are some pics, tell me what you think.
T3/T4, Custom crossmember to save room done by cody(tinker219), manifold made by cody, and assembled by us. So far, I have put a total of about $2,500 in this car including the $250 purchase price
Let me know what you think of this inexpensive sleeper.

whats the body look like thats what makes it a sleeper.
like mine for exhample. b16 with t3. but my hood is all busted up and my front bumper cover has scrapes and paint missing. i get laughed at everyday cause of what the car looks like. but when i smoke a z28 or mustange im the one laighing in the end. sleepers own
nice set up by the way

I agree, the body and outside of car is what makes a sleeper. Intercooler, wheels, and exhaust can make the car un-sleeperish. I agree with the need for a new camera.
well, the fenders and hood are primer black because they were replaced. the wheels are ricey, but that could be considered sleeper nowadays. one of the headlights sits half ****-eyed because it was crunched pretty good.
The front bumper is the original bumper with a few holes punched in it from the original accident.
Im trying to talk my bro into painting the car black and putting some nice bronze greenlights on it
thatd be sweet looking...

Here are some more pics of my body. Notice the primer black fenders and the blue body....
A little peeling....
My only ugrades looks wise...
Clear headlight corners
and the old rice wheels, kinda crappy..
But those are the only upgrades that are noticeable from the outside. The two tone definately makes the car stick out as particularly slow, but when I race them, they will see otherwise
. I also have a dent in my hood... forgot to latch my rusted hoodpins
.
So all in all this car is a pretty good sleeper i must say.

We got it running
. And man is it fast
. But there are a few problems besides my old clutch that slips in forth
and the fact that my front tires have absolutely no tread on them
. There are oil and radiator fluid leaking
. We need some suggestions... its not the head gasket. If anyone can help, that would be great, thanks.

well, after forgetting to bypass the charge-line to valve cover vaccum line, we blew the PVC box off the back of the block. I dont think we broke anything, put it back in, and its all good. heres a bunch of pics...
Thats it. The CEL is #20. I have yet to figure that one out, but the car runs great regaurdless....

always look for the highest source of a leak. could be the valve cover leaking, maybe the intake manifold gasket, a loose hose clamp somewhere. just try running the car for a few minutes and then get up under the engine and see if you can source it.
nice choice with the car by the way. i love 4th gen civic sedans
your setup is a little quicker than my own i'm sure, but here a few OLD pics of mine. NA ls/vtec

good luck finding the leaks.

thats it! stockers are going back on Asap!
We figured out the oil leak, but the coolant leak isnt significant enough for me to get off my lazy ***(actually im TOO busy to look hehe) and do something. that thing is crazy though, I cant believe it.
we will run stock rims with 255 wide tires up front or something
Williamsburg is in Michigan, about 7 miles north of Traverse City.

what exactly do you mean here? which line are you speaking of?

its the big 1/2 inch vacuum line that goes from the valve cover, by the oil cap(on B series) to the intake/charge line. it connects by the distributor on the intake...

Hey dude you should start a thread to have people post their sleepers...Kinda like what your brother had on his "who started with rice" thread. Could be interesting to see fellow sleeper mods
