Hi, I was wondering if it's absolutely necessary to run an oil return line that has a bigger diameter than the oil return outlet off the turbo? I know I'll probably get bashed for asking that but I was just curious to how small I could get and what the side effects if there are any. I just was thinking of running the same size diameter as my turbo's outlet but just doin my research. Any input is appreciated....

-10 (5/8 I.D.) is the standard. I've never had any experience with running a smaller size, but I don't think it would be absolute suicide. You'd have to take into account how much oil you have going to the turbo, the drain itself, etc.

 

hmmm.... ya that's the size mine is. I think I'll just play it safe and stick with what I got. Might as well run something that's been proven rather than take a chance to ruin a brand new turbo . Thanks for the input though, I appreciate it.

 

The bigger the better! I run -12AN lines for mines. Converts to about 3/4" ID
