Default oil feed pressure..again

ok...
this is my diagram:
BLOCK--->T---Stock Sender
|
-3AN oil feed---------------------------->T------Greddy sending unit
|
-3AN line to turbo inlet

i got a mechanical tester and tested my oil feed pressure right at the T by the turbo and there is barely any pressure. I think i am in deep doo doo. I now have to go back and see what's up at the oil sending unit T at the block. Its so cold out here I am really not a happy guy right now.

sh-t...
I think i found the problem. I took my oil feed line out and couldn't even blow through it. It was a tiny tiny metal shaving stuck in one end. So much for cleaning out the hole after tapping it! I hope my turbo isn't screwed. It has no in and out play and only a tiny bit of up and down play but spins nice and free. There was oil getting in there but not under any significant pressure.

I took the whole friggin oil feed setup apart (Its 25 degrees outside now and dark) and cleaned it all and put it all back together and I'm about to go out and test it.

I'll report back later.

damn...sorry to hear that Torin.......well at least you found the problem...from what I heard, turbos acutally need very little oil...

Well...
I took it out for a drive and NOW I have oil pressure. JEEZ i'm glad I decided to put the greddy sending unit Teed right at the turbo. Otherwise, I never would have found out!!

I am very upset. Perhaps that is why my turbo fried initially. Now I can only imagine that it will require a rebuild way before its god given time

It did have a trickle of oil but not even enough to register any good pressure reading at all. Perhaps a few psi?

I am now getting about 1 bar at idle (14psi) and about a max of 2+Bar (30psi) at most rpms. The -3AN line must keep the pressure limited which is probably an ok thing.

So, am I screwed?? The turbo spools just fine. I feel only a little up and down play in the shaft at the compressor side. I occasionally smell a wiff of oil burning (which scares me because the initial install led to alot of oil leaking past the turbine shaft). I don't smell any oil burning when I put my nose in the exhaust at idle. I don't see plumes of smoke out the back at WOT.

Pray for my turbo please.
