Default oil catch can

Help a newbie out thats into forced inductions.. im thinking about boosting my 95 ex coupe with ls motor. but oil catch can has been on my mind. now is the oil catch can really to catch oil and oil vapors? another thing is... if your boosting.. with the stock pcv valve still inside the valve cover hole.. arent you pressurizing the crankcase still since.. the pcv valve is still connected to the intake manifold? can someone help me understand this thanks.

i belive with pressure it blows out oil in to the can, u would have to empty it everyonce in a while, or run a drain to the back of the block

the goal of a "catch can" is to simply catch the oil from the PCV and only recirculate the crankcase fumes.

a crankcase ventilation system would be more suitable for a turbo build.

Two -10 AN lines or something with equal inside diameter from the valve cover to a catch can with a filter on top will be fine. I've taken mine off to drain it 3X in a years time and all 3X it's had only a few ounces in it. I think I have like $100 in the whole setup plus paying to have it welded.

if you removed the valves from the PCV, it would help. But when your boosted, you are still going to need something that can move more volume ie: -10 fittings off the valve cover. Just remember to baffle the fittings.

Crankcase ventilation has been covered before. I have a stock b18b turbo and I use the B&R Valve cover kit. It comes with everything you need and the quality of this kit is the best. It more expensive than sc34dc2's setup, but this comes with an fittings.

without something to keep oil from being sloshed into the holes in your valve cover, you will fill up your catch can in no time. You need a baffle (oil filterishtype) in front of the holes so mostly just crankcase vapor exits. Not all of the oil in your head being sloshed around. Think of a baffle like a metal plate covering the whole with a bunch of small holes drilled into it. (much like the reason people use steel wool)

so do i drill little holes in the baffle inside the valve cover or get a fitting that kinda baffled already?
