Icon6 Need advice on cam selection for my setup

Ok guys I'm in a bit of a pickle here. This is my first actual full build/turbo setup. I have a complete b18c1 and I'm going to get it sleeved with Darton sleeves. It will be stock bore and I will be running wiseco 9.5/1 pistons on eagle h beam rods. Now as for the head I will be full skunk2 pro valvetrain ( valves, springs, retainers) ferrera bronze valve guides. Now at first I was going to go with skunk2 pro2 cams because a friend who is helping me with the build told me to get them. But I've been reading and doing research and now I'm confused. I am reading that tuner stage 2 would be better than pro series and vica versa on other sites. Now I just need a little help on deciding which cams to go with. This car will be daily driven and I am looking to make about 450-500 whp. Any suggestion comment insights or what ever is welcome. I wanna do this right.

Thanks in advice to all that help and bump.

With that turbo for that power level I would go with typeR's or skunk2 tuner 1 cams. No need to go pro and have all the ware on the rest of the valve train. As far as injector I would run the ID1000 to have a nice idle to go with it. I run Precison 880ccc nothing bad to say about them but You have to run a resistor box and it will idle a bit funny sometimes lol. What parts do you have so far? You can save alot of money and time reasearching here and doin it right the first time. G/L wit your build.

The T1 Race Development Integra uses Skunk2 Pro Series Stage 1 cams to feed the engine and has had outstanding results with their performance. "We've tested a lot of different cams and the Pro 1's have outperformed everything" says Tony.
Quite possibly something different for the upcoming shootout though.

Skunk2 Tuner 1's will be great for your setup and needs.

OEM ITR Cams are great, but there are better alternatives out there.

Thanks alot for your insight. Now quick question. Wat are ID1000 injectors? Would I ha e to run e85? Because if so I would like to hopefully stick with 93 octane. Any who so far I have the complete stock Gsr motor, pistons and rods, skunk2 intake manifold, skunk2 pro cam gears, arp head studs, main studs, I will order the valvetrain on Monday. Now if I go tuner1 and make the power I want now is there room for improvment? Wats the max power estimated on tuner1?

I would go with Tuner 1 or Blox Type B. My brothers DA made 455 whp at 15 PSI. 506 at 23 PSI with just about the same set up except he has a 44mm WG. where as with the skunk 2 pro 1;s someone local made 446 at 14PSI with the same set up as the DA.

If your going to daily drive it, do not get the pros as they have a hard time idleing and they put the most ware and tare on your valve train. I would suggest Blox Type B's as they have the just about the same specs, make JUST as good power and a little bit less expensive. They idle great as well.

What are the differences between tuner 1 and tuner 2? Would there be a big difference in my setup?

There's really nothing more to bump.. Only if you're going over 800whp with the car, in which the car is no longer streetable, then Type Rs or Tuner 1s will do the job. Don't overthink a lot of this as though it is NA. Get your Tuner 1s, listen to those who have done this before, and not a buddy who's just trying to get some cash for cams off you, and get to the rest of your setup.. You're spending too much time on this portion.

As for injectors 880cc up to Bosch ID 1000s are as big as you need. If you're going 450-500, 880cc can do fine.

If you bump, try to go after another question regarding your build. You've pretty much received all the usable responses you're going to get.

+1. Cams are easy to pick. Most use ITR or Skunk 2 tuner 1;s, My self I will be going with blox type b;s as they have just about the same specs as tuner 1's as they make just as much power.

for 450-500whp 880's will do just fine. 880's can handle up to about 510whp as a integra around here made 506whp with 95-96% duty cycle.

Good choice on the 30r as well, but you might boost spike alot with the 38mm. I would choose to go with a Tial 44mm WG. If you already have the 38mm, just use it for now or if it spikes really bad.

very similar setup to mine, im using a 35r though, 84mm lsv. I was originally going for 450-500, but now after a fuel system upgrade I think Im gonna push for 550-600. I had precision 780s, but I never used them because the Injector Dynamics 1000s came out before I got the car together. If your interested in buying them just PM me, they're BNIB never even installed.

I choose the tuner1s because of everything Ive read. If you can find a set of ITRs cheap buy them, but it seems everything in my neck of the woods is overpriced, or not really ITRs. Also the tuner1s leave room to grow and if you dont have cams already, why not just buy the ones you want the first time.

Ok so I am going with the tuner1's. But I have a question still. What exactly are Injector Dynamics 1000s. Is that just a fancy name for 1000 cc injectors or is there something special about em?

I am ordering my head package today. When it arrives I'll post pic and keep yall update on the build.
