Default My two year challenge...

I have had no experience with turbo'ed cars at all before about three days ago. Then I test drove a certain car.

Alright, I had the pleasure of driving this car:

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=161407881

Basically, as it turned out I wasn't able to afford the car do to the changes in insurance, and loan payments combined.

However, I have decided that I am going to, over the next two years learn as much as I can about attempting these kinds of modifications to cars. I am going to then buy all the parts that I am going to use for the installation, buy a honda @ around $6000 and mod the hell out of it.

So, towards that end I have just bought a couple of books regarding this subject off of Amazon.com.

So, beware: Me.

Look forward to using the forums!

Welcome to the forum bro! Before asking something, please use the search feature.... This site has been around for a VERY long time, and almost everything has already been covered So just do searches a lot, you'll learn more then u think! Also dont ask dumb questions like "How much horse power will this and this give me, there are just too many variables. Once again, welcome!!

Don't worry, before this I was car-audio bound. They had their "How may DBs will I hit DUDez!"

I'll try and avoid stupid questions.

Also the books should give me a lot of info in a more complete fashion than random questions will.

As far as I know (which is nothing) he had one on. At least that is what he said he had.

Also, do all turbos make that awesome sucking and blowing noise when you accelerate and let off the acceleration? I instantly fell in love with that sound along with the engine revving alongside it.

Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging"
A. Graham Bell;Hardcover; $33.97

Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems"
Corky Bell;Paperback; $27.96

They cost the most, so I figured they had to be the best.

One thing i suggest is once you buy which ever car your gonna get, is buy the Service Manual, like Helms or something similar. It has been the best damn $60 i ever spent and it will teach you more than anyone else can about your car. Getting knowledge on Tunning is a different story....

Just make a thread asking what you should buy and HT will be sure to let you on the bandwagon

Good luck I bet when you're done with your own setup, you will look back at that Accord and realize how much better off you were building your own.

LOL!!!!! I wasn't putting your car down. It looks nice. I was just stating that when it comes to boost, it's usually better to do everything yourself so that if something goes wrong, you know exactly what you did and how you did it. Just my experience with things...

Your car looks good

I got the Haynes manual for my car. It was $15 at a local parts store. Paperback.

Is there a more complete manual than that? If there is I would probably be interested in it.
