my new garrett
I recently damaged my pte 6265 and decided to go with a
Garrett t3t67 turbo. I'm still fairly new to forced induction so i
Would like all the info you guys can give me on what to expect from this unit.
Bought off a guy on craigs list for $300 brand new and was a big part on why i went with
This turbo. Found some info on it online but i want to hear from honda techs with eexperance running this turbo. Thanks guys

Not necessarily all Compressor covers have the Garrett logo on it. Most do, but not all.
From what I can tell, This is at least using Garrett parts, although it does look like a rebuild, and not a new unit.
1. Backplate. That is a billet backplate used by about 2 different Garrett master distribution companies. I've used these myself.
2. Compressor bolts/ brackets look standard Garrett T04 issue.
3. Turbine wheel looks like a replacement unit. Same count as a Garrett journal bearing, and same stamp, but definitely a replacement.
4. V-band looks decent, but don't count on it being a universal fit with a Garrett v-band. you're going to have to try and match a few weld flanges and v-band clamps to see which it fits. Looks VERY aftermarket
5. Boost reference nipple on the compressor cover is a poor choice for its location despite interweb popularity.
6. Compressor cover definitely looks as though it is an OEM-style sand cast mold. Those tend to be very coarse and unmistakable.
7. Turbine housing doesn't look Garrett at all, but may have been machined to fit.
Not all Garrett's have serial numbers on their compressor backplates or cartridges, especially those of larger mid-framed size, and those that are not OEM use. T67s were typically built to order, and therefore didn't have those serial numbers.
So. will this last? hard to say, but it for sure looks like a rebuilt unit in which they had to at least replace the turbine wheel. If they went cheap and tried to replace T3 components (like heat shields , c-clips and retaining rings,) and didn't use the good T4 stuff, it could fail. The seller easily had about $500 into it, if it is real. so, hard to say. Still a better bet than some eBay ****. So.. might as well give it a shot
Hope that helps. Back to work for me. Later.....

I had the vband welded on and a friend tapped the nipple on the housing.
Here are some better pics, maybe they'll help you help me with even more info
