Default My Boosted SOHC

Well it's finally finished with the help of some good friends and it runs like a
bat outta hell. The majority of the parts on this car are ebay parts and they all work great with the exception of the SSAC downpipe. It had to be seriously modified so it would work.

Garret t3/t4 50 trim
Ebay FMIC
Ebay Type RS BOV
Ebay HKS style wastegate
Ebay Piping
SSAC Manifold
SSAC 3" Downpipe **CRAP**
Tsudo 2.5" Exhaust N1 style
DSM 450's
Gripforce 6puck clutch
Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel
Glowshift Gauges

Tuned using Crome (thanks Chris!) and using the in-car dyno it ballparked a 234hp and 191tq pull @ 10psi. So that at least gives us a rough idea.

yeah the manifold is braced from the turbo flange to the head flange in two places by 1" x 1/4" stainless steel, and from the turbo flange to the wastegate flange as well. It's not going anywhere for a while. I told my dad it needed bracing and he did an awesome job on it.

you need a filter over the turbo inlet, and keep a close eye on the setup since they are cheaper ebay parts, you need to be very carefull becuase they can break, wear faster or crack easier. if you catch issues earily it will help get them resolved w/o too much of a problem, but if not then it could cause major issues.

you didnt brace it right. you need a brace that removes the weghit from the manifold, you should of made a bracket from block to turbo, not from manifold to manifold, youve done nothing but restrict the amount of expansion the manifold has when it heats up. i bet it cracks quicker, most likely at the turbine flange

but other wise setup looks really good, nice and clean

Actually, the just put the brackets on backwards, I thought they were wrong until I turned tem around, lol.

Well, it came slightly braced when I got it, we just thought it would be better to use thicker steel. I see what you guys are saying now. We'll see what I can come up with considering I have empty A/C compressor mounts.

the car just ran a 9.3 in the 1/8th at 85 mph with a 2.3 60ft. That's not bad considering it was his 2nd time to the track

it's just a fun little tool in crome that you can use to give you a ball park. I told him that it read a little high.

i've also got that piece of junk ssac mani. You should pull it back off and start grinding away inside it. Port the wg tube and any extra metal where the primaries collect.
As far as bracing goes, I took a metal strip like 7 in long (about 1 inch by 1/8th), bent it into an s with the vice and BFH drilled a couple holes and put it on a bolt on the oil return flange and then on a brace bolt running from block to trans. so far so good.
deffinitely keep an eye on every part very frequently at first.

unfortunately my turbo has developed a serious case of shaft play within the two weeks that it has been installed. Angry phone calls will ensue.
