Default MSD 6BTM with a hondata??

Okay, I know I am susposed to retard the timing 8 deg. with the JRSC, but do I still need to after this weekend when i install my hondata? I am assuming I do.
Also what about a MSD 6BTM, can I use one of these for a situation where the temp jumps to like 107 and I had to put some no name gas in my car cause I'm in the middle of noware? Mabey just bring the timing back a little more to be safe?

Or will the wonders of my hondata just handle everything for me and I just keep on going?

the BTM would be unneeded with Hondata, assuming proper tuning. You could leave it on however, and turn the boost retard to 0. If you ran into a situation with detonation, it could be used as a bandaid, but remember, it IS a bandaid, not a solution

Yup.. If you have the Hondata with boost option and install it properly on the JRSC (see hondata.com for specific JRSC install requirements), you can return your base timing to stock and tune the Hondata for boost.

If your car is a "one fuel" daily driver only, the BTM becomes usless (aside from the spark amplification). But, since you already have the BTM... if you run street/strip, you can tune your car on the dyno with race fuel for the track (BTM set at 0 deg/lb) then dial in additional boost retard as needed with pump pee on the streets. Kinda like the best of both worlds.

Oh, i don't have the btm, was just considering it. let's say i decided to run higher boost just for racing w/ high octane fuel. will hondata compensate for the modifications? thanx
