Default Motec lamda meter + ALD

anyone know about these 2 things? obviously they are reliable... but as for the lamda meter... how long do the o2 sensors last and how much do they cost to replace? are the feasible for the street? or will the o2 go out too often? and how about the ald? is this an entire ecu system or just the dash itself? and what is it run off of? and most importantly... how much do they cost?

Im not sure if this helps but, the lamda meter is about 2 grand and is just a guage that reads the a/f mixture. Im not sure about the ald.

This is a good wide band meter. The dealer is in Sweden, but he sells it shipped for not much more than $1000.00 USD. I don't have any specifics on operation time, but you can write them an e-mail, they're very helpful.

I'll probably get one in a few months to run with my Haltech.

I took the plunge and bought a Motec PLM. I got it for $1k straight from the motec dist in SoCal. It is pretty amazing. Yes, the ultimate function is to read AF ratios, but the unit is completely programmable. It will accurately read af ratios from 50:1 to 1:1, any fuel, and has output features to make it compatable with stock ecu systems. It is not a good idea to use a $300 O2 sensor for daily use, but it does make fuel ratio tuning quite easy. I could tell you that for fuel tuning, the stock o2 sensor has repeatable results. I guess I spent 1k to find that out, but to save you all some cash, make sure that a good o2 sensor is putting out AT LEAST 0.8volts at WOT, that is 14.0:1 at 4000rpm and up.

It is a fun tuning tool, not really necessary if you can accurately and quickly measure the stock o2 sensor, and in my honest opinion, worth the 1K in future uses.........
