It looks like I might become an upper east coast distributor. I am speaking with the director of microtech right now. I should be getting a unit, monitor, wideband and coil pack through them to start tuning by december. I will see how it goes. The unit looks even more promising since they are going to release plug and play systems for Honda's, with ability to use the coil packs with some extra wiring.

Plug and play sounds awesome! I was gonna hack up my old VTEC controller adapter harness if I got the Microtech. An guestimation on how much the PnP setup will cost?

Microtech has a mixed reputation down here, many people think that (their past ECU's anyway) are really good for drag applications where the car is on WOT for long periods, but not for daily driving. Others will swear by them. I know one guy using it to run his turbo diahatsu charade and he loves it, yet another guy running it in a supra has had problems with his losing maps (prolly just a faulty unit).

Personally i think they are well priced and well featured. Online Performance down here use one in their drag CRX (which is the aussie record holder running 9.7). I'm starting to wonder whether to use a Microtech myself, as they have a price advantage over the Haltech systme i am considering.

Cheers

old microtechs were sucky because their injector resulotion, i believed.

the new ones are way better than the old ones.

that's why people think microtech are only for drags, which is not. I used my microtech daily driving, and it was way better than my stock unit. (ie mazda rx-7 ecu sucks already that's why, usualy does nothing to honda's)

yup i belieev you're right. Lots of people complained about crappy fuel economy etc

However i think the new ECU's are far better, and worthy of consideration

just got my lt8 system in for my CRX

as of right now its just a SOHC Vtec

but will be going turbo in a month as soon as i install Microtech and learn to use the menus to tune it by laptop

Originally I had hondata s200 w. boost and datalogging but sold it to try Microtech

I live next to a rotory shop Mazsport and worked there for a brief period and every car in that shop uses microtech

Instead of following whats been done i thought id try whats new

This must be the new system as it was made for my application specifically

It will use all my stock sensors and dizzy

Looks like ill be one of the first Honda in AMerican to be really tryin Microtech

Ill let everyone know how the install goes and they told me it should fire up like stock because they preprogramed a base map so I wouldnt have problems firing up

Ill try and keep updates on my project

Ill take pics of the unit tonight

hey boosted hybrid, did you find any more useful info on microtech, and conclusions about the system? Are you still going to become a distributer of it?

I finally found something that I do NOT like about the Mitcrotech. On my friend's LT12 setup you can not manipulate information if the serial cable is not physically connected to the running main ecu.

I spoke with the representative of the company their pricing is going to jump another 300.00-350.00 on the systems, and another 200-250.00 for the plug and play harness. All other items including the coil packs, monitior display are going up in price as well. The system will be compariable pricewise with autronic, fast, etc. I wont be a dealer for them, I just dont see enough of a market at their pricing structure to be able to sell enough units.

pricing is similar to autronic? wow no wonder not many people are using it over there, its like half the price of the autronic sytems down here!

Prices are probably rising partly because the aussie dollar is stronger these days, so others like autronic and haltech might go up a bit as well
