Im running id1000s on a built b16. I was wondering how much hp I can make before the pump maxes out.

you can definitely make 550 with that setup, granted you have good enough supporting mods

 

depends on what fuel you're using. on regular pump 93 id say right around 550. ...full blown makes a 340lb i made 650whp on that pump. I'm using c16 though.

 

We have maxed out the 255 at 550hp on stock lines, made 600hp with -6 lines

 

yeah i have heard 550whp too

 

I hear people say high numbers all the time on here, but first hand experience I have seen 3 255's pumps max out in the high 400's. Make sure to upgrade the wiring to the pump too.

 

550. I wouldnt really suggest maxing out your fuel pump......

 

I maxed out on my B16 stock lines at 607 with a single 255. The 400 will yield more room on top.

 

I have a -6 and -6 to stock return. I also thought about running a inline walbro 255 as well and doing a pump rewire. My battery is less then a foot away for there hole where the fuel pump us.

Sweet Im really only going to run pump gas. So I dont see us making 500whp on pump gas. Ill make a race gas tune but I dout Ill ever use it.

 

That chart is fr a 255hp. A standard 255 will max out 400-450 I'm maxing mine out right now at a little over 400 with 50 base pressure and 18 psi boost. When I increase boost to 20 it requires a huge jump in fuel on the map so I know it's not eyeing up. I have a standard 255. I could drop base pressure to 4 ut that won't give me much more useable pump and I prefer a base of 50 for better spray pattern

 

Seems to be like theres a wide range of that kinda power I can make.

 

My roomates car that I helped him build is sitting around 417hp @20-21psi on a single 255 stock lines and filter. Its got some fuel left in it too, we just were having spark issues.
Isnt there a trick to chush the relief valve for a little more pressure? Ive never tried it, and now that the 340lph and 400lph pumps are readily available we will prolly just got to that if we run out of pump this year.
The car is getting swicthed to coil on plug and gonna shoot for 500+ on E85.

Walbro 255, stock fuel lines and 775cc Fuel Injector Clinic, Stock ITR Head and Cams, B16 Block with cp 9.7:1 flat tops, manley turbo tuff rods, stock sleeves, 35R turbo, pump gas daily driven

470whp. Put slicks on and ran 11.0@127.

 

what about the warlboro 400lph pumps are they any good? and how do you change your fuel feed and return line using the stock pickup? im about to build a motor and am looking to make 550 stock sleeve built bottom end lsvtec

We maxed out a 255 at 550ish on a dynojet with stock lines

 

the 400lph far exceeds the 255hp pump. the limiting factor wil begin to be the stock lines before that pump runs out of steam

im very surprised to see the variance of max hp numbers. i had always believed that roughly 550whp was the upper limit of the pump. ive been making 400-500 hp on a single 255 (stock lines up to the filter, -6 to the rail) for 5 years and i have fuel left over if i wanted to make it richer. looking to dip into the low 500-525 range this year.

 

Yes there is just google walbro fuel pump mod, I have been running a modded pump for over a year now. You dont really notice it until you are running high fuel pressure. I noticed my fuel map after I did the mod had to be leaned way out in the higher rpms.
