Main Cap Crank Bolts
If you really think about it, the main cap bolts are just holding the crank in place and much stress isn't in this area. The combustion chamber is where the high cylinder pressures are at and hence the need for arp headstuds. I don't know of anyone that runs the arp main caps bolts (if they even make it) but i would think only the pros would use them. Like i said, i really see no need for them. Paul
Thats why i asked because ive heard of someone talking about them when i rebuilt my motor but have not heard anything about them if they make them. Thanks
Honda did a great job in their design of the main bearing webing but you are kind of minimizing the abuse they take. When a motor detonates it actually can lift the main bearing cap away from the block. With a spinning mass at 10,000 rpms, the centrifical force is tremendous. That's why the gsr block was made with a girdle. It seems the mains are good for 1000hp but at some point the weak point will be found.

, I was basing my answer on theory as i haven't seen many people have to upgrade main cap bolts. Paul
