Default ls/vtec

i am relatively new to modifying cars and i have been reading around this board for about a month now. i also show that show on mtv about street racing (dont worry, thats not what im gunna talk about), but what are the advantages of a LS bottom end with a VTEC head (i think that is the right terminology)? is the LS motor just a stronger motor and then put a VTEC head just to get a little more top end power?

i see at lease 3 post a week on other boards saying post in forced induction they should know

but any way i welcome all relvent questions as long as it is not what turbo i should use and what i sthe vafc hack.

now back to your question. it is usually cheaper. most people that do the ls/vtec already has an ls motor. also the ls is not better by far. it can be made just as good if not better but will cost more then just buying a gsr.
