Default ls head gsr block

ok so i just finished completely rebuilding my ls head with brian crower cams, valvs, and springs and retainers. im putting together a turbo kit, and i want to build my bottom end, but i dont have the option of losing my car for a week or more putting it all together. im looking for a block that i can build then put in the car. my question is can i put my ls head on a gsr block? im planning to run low comp pistons, eagle rods and a balanced crank.

y wut?? i cant be without my car long enough to take the block out and build it. so im getting another block to build. then im gonna put my built head onto it and put it all in my car. i dont care what u think about vtec vs non-vtec. i have a built ls head i wanna use that will be port and polished. i just want to kno if i can use them together or if i have to find an ls block.

he asked why because it would make no sense. just get an ls block. what is the reasoning for using a gsr block, there would be no performance advantage and its more expensive.

no. i kno there is no performance advantage. thats just what is available to me. i was just askin would it work. if i found an ls block for less i would get that im totally rebuilding it anyways so it wouldnt matter.

If you can't find an LS block for cheaper than a GSR block you aren't looking hard enough.

really , why not use the gsr block, its a better block in the first place with the girdle and oil squirters... why get a ls whats the ******* difference...

i mean i'd never throw a ls head on a gsr block.. but i don't see why not put the best block you can find to use for your build...

instead of doing a ls/vtec build, i just used the GSR block with the LS crank and crower ls rods. why, because the GSR block is better !

and yes you can just use the gsr block! the only disadvantage would be the shorter stroke on the GSR crank... but can easily be changed out for the LS crank which i found mine for 50 bucks
