Default LS bottom+ R Head...??

Any-1 ever run a semi built LS bottom end and a Type R head? The R head is good for 450+hp as is, so wouldnt a semi built ls bottom like mentioned below make for a pretty good set-up? With boost of course

ls bottom
JE 9.2:1 Forged pistons
JE Piston rings
Eagle ESP Rods

98 jdm itr head, stock internals

would the itr head bump the compression up a bit?

That setup is basically the same as doing an LS vtec setup, search it up on this board. The b18c5 head is basically a b16 head with some port work, stronger valvetrain, and more agressive cams.

BTW: what do you mean by the head is good for 450+ hp as is?

i wouldn't bother spending that much money on an itr i'd rather just go with a gsr or si and use the money left over on other things

thats what ive been thinking about, i already have a 98 jdm itr swap, i was thinking of selling the bottom end and usuing that money to buy a built bottom end from some-1 on this board, most of the built b series bottoms on the board sell around 2000, id be swapping my high compression R bottom for a low compression semi-built b series bottom

You have a complete Type R engine? Dude, just lower the compression a bit and turbo that. Then build it up later down the road if you want. That Type R bottom end would be better than an LS bottom end.

B18c1/5 are the best all around motors honda ever made imo...

yea, its complete swap, 11:1

yea, i think im just gonna lower the compression with a thicker headgasket, have it tuned for 280-300whp high boost, drive it on low for daily driving and just enjoy it until it needs a rebuild, then ill go over my other options

thanks in info guys
