leaning out at full boost
hi, my car leans out when i hit full boost, like hitting a fuel cut, otherwise it idles and drives good out of boost. i have a d16y8 with a t3t4 turbo kit, gsr fuel pump, stock fpr, rc550s, ngk bkr7e spark plugs, and aem uego,. i street tuned it using crome free and has been running great for about a month. today i did a compression test and i took out the ecu fuse and disconnected the the dizzy harness. all cylinder was at about 160. i drove it and when i hit full boost, i saw the gauge go all the way lean. i added 10% then 20% more fuel but its still goes lean. i already tried my working ex fuel pump and spark plugs. im thinking its the fuel filter since it about three years since i changed it. also, could a coil or plug wires cause this? i'll replace the fuel filter tomorrow.
Well if it happened after you pulled your plugs then I think you have an idea on where to start. Replace the plugs... You also NEED to get a walbro in there, that GSR pump is not going to flow enough for the 550's. Then you will need to re-tune to compensate.
After those changes Id bet it will run fine.

is there a difference between the GSR and any other honda pump?
i thought the 240cc injectors and pumps, and regualtors for that matter, would all be the same?

i replaced the fuel filter today and now its running good again, just need to tune it more. i was surprised that there are loose pieces of foam inside the old filter. i guess its the material they used for filter.
as for the fuel pump, all dohc vtec=134lph and all sohc+dohc non-vtec=79lph
i searched for info and the dohc vtec pumps are good for 250-300whp. i'm probably around 230-250whp.

shouldnt be anything wrong with it... people have made 300-350WHP on stock GSR fuel pump's. have you tried 550's with a GSR pump? did you lean out. check out hondata's website they have some info on stock fuel pumps + high flow injectors. i think a guy on there made 350WHP w/ 680CC's and a stock GSR pump. stop posting false information guys
if he was runnin a GSR motor... thats one thing but still would be fine at low boost
edit: eh tried to look for dyno's only one i saw that said stock pump was :

260WHP stock fuel pump. which is what you said you are probably around. no doubt a walbro is a safe thing to throw in. but you should be fine o.0

why not upgrade all your fuel lines.... from the pump to the rail? if your running a mild turbo'd D it shouldnt be an issue
. and bleh my pump has caused nothign but problems lol... frikking CRX's having to drop the tank every time. i think my pump is broken it keeps shorting out -.-(walbro pump)

a graph hondata did to show the HP potential on a stock fuel pump. now dont take this at a 100%.... i would go +-50hp so.... @ 40psi ide say if your under 300 you SHOULD be on the safe side. larger injectors + lower PSI rating = more flow. as long as your not oging crazy on the FP you should be fine. i doubt he is doing more than 35-45psi
