Default Keep B16 or go B20 vtec?

Everyone has b20 vtec these days. I dunno, it sort of feels special to keep the little B16.. I actually have my B16 engine apart now, changing all the seals, piston rings, doing a port and polish and stuff.. but the B20-vtec sure is tempting at this point...

Not like the speed is that much more right?
I mean which cars can I run against with a B20 vtec?
Any body here happy with their B16?
What about Boosting it?
I'm torn... haha

Originally posted in 92-00 (thus my quoting the 92-00 section rules), got dumped here...I'm guessing because OP casually mentioned maybe "boosting it." There really is no helping this one.

Sometimes, threads get dumped into GDD. Those are always entertaining. Honestly though, it's probably safe to just lock this one up. OP posted (badly) in the 92-00 section, and will go back to the 92-00 section looking for his thread. He won't find it, and will either give up, or create a new thread in 92-00. Either way, I seriously doubt he'll come looking for it in FI, and given his inability to read stickied threads before posting, it's a safe bet he doesn't know how to use the user CP to find his thread.

Opps... I made this post laaate after work... might have been a little intoxicated too..
Erm.. yeah might as well lock it. I will make a new technical thread in the appropriate section.

This kind of does not belong in the forced induction section, but with that said the b16 has a good rod stoke ratio. If I were building a b16 I would bore it out to 1.8 or 2 liters if possible or get a custom deck plate made to increase the deck height to get some more displacement then turbo it. Your compression ratio will drop but it will still rev high and you will be able to push in even more air volume into the combustion chamber with the turbo and run more boost.
