ok so i got tuned yesterday and i drove it up and down the street 2x then i trailered it home and went around the block and then parkedit, went out and gave her a little juice and it seemes like it dies out at around 6k i reach boost and the turbo is spooling but the engine seems like its hitting a brick wall, normal driving and acceleration is fine only under heavy throttle!

 

Call your tuner & have him resolve the issue.

i dont think vtec is engauging. i checked my oil and connections any idea?

 

check vtec solenoid...theres a screen that catches crap...if its gunked up vtec will not enguage...its an easy check...remove 3 bolts and it lift's right off

 

Depending on your setup it could be the turbo running out of breath. But you'd have to ask your tuner.

i dont understand some of these suggestions..you just had the car tuned, i can only assume it did not cut out at 6krpm's on the dyno or i cant imagine you would have taken the car home...lets start with the easy questions..

is it mis-firing at higher rpm's?

is vtec enguaging?

start with those and work your way from there...quite honestly i would call your tuner and go over the issues with him...without more info you are shooting in the dark

 

new plugs, and gaped perfectly the plugs are not wet either. it seems as if vtec is not engauging

 

was it tuned on chrome and what psi are you running. you could be experiencing boost creep and its hittin the boost wall built into the map

 

if vtec is not enguaging lets check the obvious first

oil level
oil pressure
vtec solenoid

 

Was it "fine" at 6k when you got tuned?

 

im pretty sure it no vtec, but at idle my oil pressure is below 2.0 and driving is about 5.0-5.5 under boost its around 6.0 NEVER over.

im tuned on crome with a brand new built engine and running 9.0 PSI running off the wastegate spring.

my oil level is fine and it seems that if i let the car sit for a bit then drive it its fine but after ten min or so of driving i experince thies issues.

i also have a 3 bar map.

it more dies out at 7k EVERY time and then stutters

 

It's been said several times already, but I'll give it another shot.....talk to your tuner.

its simple go back to your tuner. you paid him for a reason im sure he doesnt want bad rep on a car so he would be nice and help ya out.

Thats what I was thinking at first, but if its in bar then it makes sence.

 

lets hope its in bar

 

seeing as he is located in the usa then i doubt he is using bar. but you never know. I did the bar conversion for the numbers he said and i would be fine. 6bar=87psi.
