Joe P Manual Boost Controller Install
Just wondering where exactly I hook the boost controller up. I am guessing it just replaces the currect hose that goes from the wastegate to the turbo, but I want to verify first. If so, what is the other connection on the wastegate for? BTW: It's a 99 GSR with Drag III and Tial 35mm.

The top connection on the wastegate goes to one side of the boost controller and the other port on the boost controller goes to the manifold vacuum.
So I don't touch the hose from the wastegate to the turbo? Where is a good place to mount the boost controller?

do not hook any thing to the top of the wastegate!!!!!! just plug the boost controller in the hose that runs from the turbo to the side of the wastegate and leave the top open
I have mine hooked up to the top and it works fine. I tried it the way you said and it did not work. I never went above the wastegate spring level that way.
Running the Joe P with the Tial 35mm. You need to use the side nipple only! Do not use the top nipple on the wastegate, you will expeirence boost spiking. Tee the vaccum hose from the master cylinder, and run that inline with the boost controller to the side port on the wastegate, and you are set.

OK, I hooked it straight from the turbo nipple to the side connection on the wastegate, and it works. Thanks for the help.
i used my inline with the vacuum hose.
mine actually went directly to the intake manifold and not hte turbo but both ways it will work.
the jpmbc worked great for me for a good 6 months before i got rid of my kit.
never had a spike and spool wasn't effected. worked great for $50.

another question... when you install the mbc... do you have to adjust the spring all the way up or down? or just leave it as is?
here is how i did mine.....and how you SHOULD do it
first, buy a brass hole block for that hole in your compressor, you dont need, this, block that off so you dont leak boost.
second, leave the top port of your TIAL open,......this needs to be atmospheric
run a line from the side port of your TIAL (port on the rear facing the valve cover) to your MBC, the have it exit the MBC and run to your intake manifold.
presto, all set! good luck!
