Default ITR motor with T3/T04E?

Does anyone know of dyno graphs of an ITR with a T3/T04E turbo bolted on to it? I've searched but found really nothing good.

I've gotten hold of a used Full Race stage3 turbo kit (with no turbo) for my JDM ITR motor (11.1:1 CR). So I plan to get a T3/T04E along with it.

I'm going to run stock internals with very low boost (6 psi), 550cc injectors, 2.5" cat-back and tuning using Hondata.

But I'm not sure what trim to get on the T3/T04E. I'm thinking going with a 54 trim compressor and 0.60 AR turbine, but I'm not sure what the spool characteristics will be. Suggestions?

The car will not be used for drag, but will attent track events every now and then. So I'm looking for a smooth powerband with ~250whp.

How is the response in this turbo for track driving?

mine is obviously a USDM ITR, but I have a T3/TO4e turbo, hope this helps

What's the specs on the turbo? How many psi?

60 trim compressor wheel, .63AR turbine housing

about 10 Psig boost

That torque curve looks perfect. Looks like it spools early enough .

How do you feel the response is in the turbo? Do you notice any particular "delay" in throttle response when you gun it out of a corner?

I'd say the response is good. As long as you are in a low enough gear when exiting a corner, there's no delay.

How has your stock bottom end held up with all those years of boost? Any significant oil consumption/piston ring wear?

Well, it lasted 40K miles boosted. It started consuming a lot of oil last summer, and compression on cyl #3 is down. I think this can be attributed to the fact that I ran it untuned for almost 3 years before going with Hondata. I'm currently building another motor for the car.

My boy put down 375 wheel with a T3/T04E .50 a/r (think trim is a 60) around 15 psi in a USDM Teg R with stock bottom end, 750 injectors 3" straight back and a Apexi Power FC. He ended up cracking on of the stock sleeves.

Mr. Helsinki, I see a lot of boost creep on that dyno plot. But I love that early spool you get around 3200rpm.

How can you tell from the plot that there was boost creep?

There was some creep, I was running a very small wastegate at the time (Deltagate), I had the wastegate spring set at about 9Psig, it crept to about 10-11 Psig

I had that same turbo on my ITR with a very simple set up did 303whp at 8psi on the .63 backhousing. On the 2nd set up I went with .82 backhousing and the top end was nasty as hell. Seemed to spool the same too

Was that with the T3/T04E 303whp setup?

I don't see any boost creap problems, but i do see a choppy vtec change over.

the 54 trim is smaller than the 50 trim...

why not just get a 50 or 57 trim @ .63?

becasue the tq keeps going up. Seems like that could help traction, having the power build more gradually like that.

Get the 60 trim .63ar as it will give you better top end and a little more hp potential. No lag if you are going to do track events as you will constantly be shifting in the powerband.

no it doesn't, the exducer (major) is 3" on all the wheels (see the table?)

your table is wrong. the 50 trim has a larger exducer than any others in that list. its about 3.11", same as a 60-1

Yep, thats my old car. That vid was with the T3/04E, but I had the .82 backhousing on it at that time. I was pushing 350-375 on 10 psi in that video.
You can see lag wasnt an issue at all. It brought the revs up pretty damn quick.
That was a fun day. Like a week or two later I put a 67 in it

heh, it's not my table, it's Turbonetics' table. They also show all their 60-1 as having 3" exducers. I'll have to give Turbonetics the benefit of the doubt on this one, so if you still think they are wrong, maybe you can convince them to change their specs and tables to reflect your opinion

Well I think I've decided to go for a 57 trim compressor with .63AR turbine housing. Should have 6psi at about 2500-3000rpm in my motor, and great response as well.

Should be great for street and track driving.
