How long will a turbo last?

Default How long will a turbo last?

putting together my kit and this crossed my mind. ill be running 6.5lbs for a good while, until i build up my motor. just curious how long they last with good maintenance. brand specifics help too. im looking at garrett and precision at the moment.

With good maintenace and a new turbo im sure you could see 100,xxx out of it.

I agree that 100,xxx is possible but unfortunately the majority of us will get lazy after a year or two and IMO 75,xxx is good number to start considering a turbo rebuild kit.

They say that with a good supply of clean oil a turbo will last longer than an engine. The key is oil, same with anything internal combustion. 75K-100K is common.
