Default How to get the turbo to spool quicker?

Hello, i have just built my motor and had my tuner street tune it to 1bar /14psi. But it is so slow in spooling. the boost begins at about 3000rpm= 0,2bar 4000rpm = 0,4bar 4500rpm= 0,6bar and 5000rpm= 1bar.

We are going to rent a dyno since my tuner at the moment has'nt got one.

All my cylinders compression is messured at 150psi that my tune and me think is a little low. But how low is that? 8,5:1??

The motor spec is:
D16y8 block
Stock head
ARP rods
Eagle rods w/ARP
SRP 9:1 pistons for D16a6.(8.8:1 was an estimate in another tread)
Ajustable cam gear at 2 degree retarded so i could reach 12' timming on the dizzy at the middle.
Cometic head gasket.
Presission 550cc injectors
Walbro 255 pump
Hondata s300
Hondata boost solonoid.
Hondata 4bar map sensor

Turbo kit:
Ebay: T3/T4 (i know you hate this part) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-95...item3a5f7a69ee
Greddy intercooler.
Greddy RS BOV
Greddy piping from 19t kit

Since i only have full power from 5000rpm to 7000rpm that is too small for AutoX.

Do you think i can get a better spool on that cheap turbo?
Or should i rebuild my old greddy 19t?
If so i only have stock manifold and downpipe for it.

What do you think? Can i rev past 7000rpm on a stock head?

Run a Lower trim turbo or go to a full t3 setup for spool and responsiveness.

There is no sense revving much higher because the motor wont gain any more power, It may however help you with Autox Because you might be able to reduce your number of shifts.

Sounds like mechanical timing, you had to retard your cam gear 2* to get your distributor at 12* BTDC?

Check your mechanical timing and report back.

D16y8 and timming is always an issue. if you have the timming gear at 0' and you dizzy all the way towards the firewall you get about 14' timming.

I read alot of threads that say to run d16z6 camgear or retard 4'. i tok the middle way. 2' and a dizzy between center and firewall position.

My exhaust is the 3" downpipe from the kit and a straight 2,5" all the way back.

Any of you that know what compression i have when it reads 150psi?
I choose the srp d16a6 turbo pistons since i got them for free
