how does a boost controller work
I wanted to know how a boost controller works. I thought that the wastegate regulates the boost by a spring that you have to replace on the inside so how does a boost controller do tha? I know this is a stupid question so just bare with me please. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

Re: how does a boost controller work (viprcr1)
profec B sends pulses of air from that black box (motor) which regulates it.
It basically "forces" the spring not to contract thereby allowing more boost than the spring is rated for. It works like a BOV, the air in the charge pipe is trying to puch the BOV open but the line you hook up to it keeps it closed. |

Re: how does a boost controller work (viprcr1)
Basically the boost controller bleeds off some of the boost before it reaches the wastegate. So if you want to run 10psi, and you wastegate has a 7psi spring, the boost controller will bleed off boost so that at a full 10psi boost the wastegate will see 7psi and open.
