Default hooking up an electronic speed sensor to a cable tranny

I have a Y1 cable tranny that uses a mechanical spedometer. I'm hooking up an Apexi avc-r boost controller and i need to connect it to and electronic speed sensor for the gear function. I can get the sensor from the junk yard but how do i hook it up. any one has wire diagram. i will be monitoring speed with the avc-r.

I think it just needs +5v, ground, and signal out. You can probably tap input power and ground from the MAP or TPS sensor, and just run the signal wire on the VSS to the avc-r.

However.. how is your speedometer gonna work now?

Yes, MAP and TPS both have +5v in. But unles you go to a cluster w/ electronic speedo you won't know how fast you are going hehe

the avc-r has speed read outs, which is good because my OEM speedo only goes up to 120mph, so i'm set.

you dont need to buy a speed sensor. The speed sensor on the crx is at the gauges. Connect it there to get the speed sensor signal.

from http://www.hasport.com the VSS wire is pin b16
You could also get the signal out of the back of the gauge cluster
