Hondata tuning issues...
My buildup has come to a point where I decide whether I tune it myself or wait until I get back to the US. Where I live, in Germany, there are no decent tuners for hondata. Is hondata easy enough to tune, so that I could use a wideband and street tune(making adjustments to the base map settings) it? Or should I just run off of a base map until I get back to the US in a few years(ha ha ha) and get a tuner there. Kinda bad situation, as I really do not want to run a FMU. My setup, t3/4e, lsvtec, 550's, intank and fpr with the hondata. I am about to buy the hondata, I jsut would hate to waste the money on all the tuning accessories and it be way over my level.
I can imagine it has been covered a couple times, but software does change. Thanks.

personally i love hondata...but if you dont have a place to dyno tune..wait til you get back to the U.S. and sell the shitty FMU and get hondata! just my .02. I dont know how much you race or if this is even your daily driver so take that into consideration when you are wanting opinions from people about tuning!
for the present moment go w/ the FMU or 440/450cc(cheap DSM) injectors! the 550s will be way too big but for that amount of boost right now...but i wouldnt disguard them just yet...keep them till you can get some good tuning and the smaller injectors will do just fine up to around 9-11 psi!
I am sure you will be able to tune it just fine without a dyno.. Just keep it conservative until you gain experience, that's what I am doing.. After you get into it you will realize it's not that hard to get it running decent. If your lucky you can find a person that is willing to help you with questions here.. I compiled a word document full of information from Hondata's website and you should be able to find it on my site in the sig.

are you telling him to run an fmu with some 450's??? that advice is not to good, fmus are to be run with stock injectors. also with an fmu and hondata you should be running a stock fuel press. reg. (1:1).

IMHO...Just get all the tuning software...and over time just over-learn the functions, and tune yourself.
You will be better off in the end (possibly be able to tune freinds cars), and have more confidence in your self.
Just make sure that your up to the task of learning how to tune, and take your time.

I'm using the Hondata S200 and it's a great system for the price. I didn't try to tune it myself, I didn't buy the tuning software. I have a great tuner here in Las Vegas, Mike at Facotr X. With RC 440 injectors he made more than 350 whp with 15 lbs boost, on my built GSR motor. I have heard of people street tuning, and tuning themselves, but my hard earned money really went to good use with a Motec Lambda meter and a good tuner on the dyno.
