Default HondaSaver Groupbuy warning?

When I asked Hondata if these guys are dealers and if my unit would come with support..this is what I got.

here is a quoted email from hondata:
>
> "What I can say is that it is unauthorised, unsupported, and probably
> involves theft.
>
>
> Doug"

Wow that's a fucked up thing to say about somebody without something to back it up! "Probably involves theft".

If I were HondaSaver, I'd talk to Hondata about slander and their legal position.

The interesting thing is that Doug visits the forums so I'm sure he knows about the groupbuy.

i know rocket and kyle and all them are good guys. I think they are just bypassing doug and probably going through a different distrib. I bet there distrib is not making much money on them maybe 5 bucks here and there and they are passing on the wealth to the honda tech community.

well I am not here to slander anyone. I asked Hondata if my warranty and support would apply since I did not see Hondasaver on their website. I am not buying something like a Hondata unit and then get stuck with a unit that is not supported...and $472 means I am saving $28 on my 2B unit. To me $28 bucks is not worth the tech support that I know is needed from Hondata. Either Hondata or rocket or the other guy can reply and clarify somethings...that is all I am asking for...nothing more nothing less.

I'm not saying anything about Rocket and the HondaSaver people. I know them to be good people, and they are here to make a legitimate living just like me and several other legitimate people here on Honda tech. But I will say this: due to several price wars on certain message boards, Hondata no longer allows group buys from authorized dealers. I'm sure some of you remember the whole Prospeed/SGT battle on here over Hondata group buys. This is why they are not allowed, and why you don't see any anymore. If you do, don't count on getting the same (I must say wonderful) tech and customer support from Hondata that you're used to hearing about.

Are we going to hear anything from Hondasaver on this? are they not distributors? what would make doug suspect this as illegal if they were just reselling from a distributor?

a piece of the puzzle is missing still.

All I can say is that I know Rocket personally and he is a man of integrity. He will not rip anyone off.
I would hope that Hondata would back any product they sold. Why wouldn't they support a honest "group buy" customer?

To all HondaTech members...We are not Authorized Hondata Dealers. We did not claim to be authorized hondata dealers. We buy our hondata units from a supplier other than hondata. They are genuine Hondata units, we are just not authorized by Hondata.

I can assure you that Rocket and I are legit. Rocket has 5 Teken apporved stars, I am waiting for my rating from Teken as I have just joined the HondaSaver team. We have hosted plenty of GB on this board and there havenot been any problems with people not recieving what they ordered.

To Doug, I don't know why you dedided to call us theives, have you recently "lost" a shipment of Hondata's? I told you I would call you on Wed. when I returned from vacation. I am sorry I violated your precious resaler agreement by posting prices, I did not know it was against the rules, I changed it as soon as you told me. I am disgusted at your lack of business ethics. Try to do a little research before you go pointing fingers and making outragious claims. At least find one person who is dissatisfied before you do.

If anyone is still concerned about this, please let me know. I am sure Rocket will have something to say as soon as he sees this too.

Kyle

AND another thing...Rocket and I back up everything we sell 100%. We do not sell ****, and we do not sell products we do not think are quality. We are enthuasists just like everyone else here, we have been ripped off and we understand how much that sucks.

If anyone is concerned about our legitimacy please give us a call or drop us a line.
