Default Honda Turbo 1235cc Engine?

And what did you think?
Honda AquaTrax R-12X

1235cc liquid-cooled dry-sump inline four-cylinder with intercooled turbocharger
DOHC; four valves per cylinder
PGM-FI with automatic enricher circuit
Computer-controlled digital with three-dimensional mapping

I cant believe there isnt a boost guage...

Scenic Shot:

This thing basically makes as much as a B18C1.

Its certainly not the first Honda factory turbo motor, i believe that honour goes to the Honda City Turbo of the 70'sor early 80's.

Thats a hella sweet jetski though...i sooooooooo want one!

I think it's Seedo that makes the supercharged jetski. The honda is is rated at 72mph and the Seedo is 76mph.

I heard the Honda one is the cleanest water craft made to date.

That's what a lot of boats and stuff do. Friend of mine has a procharged 502 in his 29 foot something or other (forgive me, i'm not good with boats ) and it basically has an air-to-air intercooler, with a scoop int he water that directs fresh water over it, and then it trains out the back of the boat. Keeping ambient air temps for an hour of cruising = ownage.

I don't really think that the supercharged one whoops it. Honda limited there motor and upping the boost is as simple as plugging up the ecu to a laptop and while your there turn up the rpm's

There are several of these around that are pushing over 300hp on a PWC

from what i have heard its not the power that makes the difference in the honda. its the power band on the sea doo. i heard the honda wants to come out the water when you get on it and the seadoo planes very well to stay full throttle. just what i have heard from some people that have ridden them

Mike is the closest to being correct, Back home ive worked at a suzuki and seadoo dealership for awhile, and actually the fastest ski to date is the RXX. its not made anymore, but its the only Bike to come from the factory that will do over 70 MPH. Dont listen to this "rated about 70 mph" the government agencies pretty much dont want any PWC on the water over 70 mph.

when Honda came out w/ their turbocharged model, all the manufactures were jealous, until it hit the market, there were quite a few recalls on them, and they werent that fast, they were turds. They consumed a **** load of gas, and had turbo lag. I think the Honda only went like 1.5 mph faster than the NA Seadoo that had 155 hp.

Now seadoo just came out w/ the Supercharged model, and ill be honest, its not as hot as it was expected to be. the ******* are extremely heavy so the 185 hp doesnt seem as fast as the 160 hp RXX. By the way the RXX was still two stroke....it had a kick *** power band, the Turbo and SC are 4 stroke.

Now on to mikes point. They did a big comparision test w/ the Honda Turbo and Seadoo SC, The honda consumed more gas, and the 0-40 mph was horrible, the Seadoo kicked its *** all over the water. As for top end, the seadoo has only about 1 mph advantage.

Regardless, Im glad honda is getting into the sport, but id still pick the SC Seadoo any day. Just wish it was in a 2 seater model
