high boost flutter / cant hold high boost issue
 

When the boost is set at over 25psi or so i get a flutter sound and the boost gauge starts jumper all over the place (up and down about 5psi). It sounds like the turbo is surging. I was thinking my wastegate isnt large enough to hold the boost pressure. I only have an old school tial 35mm with a .7bar spring. Could that be the issue? It holds fine at 20psi but after that i start getting this issue.

I dont think i have any vacuum leaks that i know of, however i need to get a new wastegate gasket as mine is leaking a little.

setup:

tial 35mm .7bar spring
apex'i avc-d boost controller
garrett gt3082r turbo with s-cover & .63ar exhaust
afi ramhorn manifold
neptune rtp with 880cc injectors

maybe the blow off valve isnt holding the pressure

I have a tial 50mm bov with a 1bar spring in it. So i wouldnt think that would be it.

have you tried a larger wastegate spring?

yeah up the gate spring or if that doesnt work time for a bigger gate

I havent, i suppose i can try it! Any other ideas?

put in a stiffer wastegate spring https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I ordered a 1bar spring - ill let you all know if that fixes the problem!
