HELP: turbo not spinning at idle....
the turbo is not spinning at idle when fully warmd up... spins past 1k rpms... but below it will not... could it be because of the oil return line... the oil return line sits slightly lower than the fitting where it goes back into the pan... could the oil be going back to the turbo and not returning back to the pan; causing it not to spin (too much oil)...? or are the seals bad... turbo is brand new just idled... if u give it gas it will spin again.... any help would be great...

If it were bad seals, you would be leaking oil all over the exhaust housing usually

did you completly tighten your bolts on the compressor housing?
one time on my buddies integra, his bolts was all loose and one of them fell off - causing it to not spin during idle.
but like they say, big turbos and small engine - it's just not pulling enough vaccumm to make it spin!

With the car off, make sure you can spin it with your fingers ... as long as it turns freely you should be fine.
My SC34 does not spin at idle on my LS.

pulling enough vacuum?
i think you mean its not flowing enough exhaust gas

It would be a combonation of both vacuum and exhaust pressure. At idle a motor is in vacuum, naturally pulling air in through the turbo compressor housing. If it had more vacuum it could in theory suck air in through the compressor turbine blades fast enough to spin the turbine .... transversely if it were to push out more exhaust gas through the exhaust housing that too could make the turbine spin ...
Please attempt to think before ridiculing someone

If the BOV is open then wouldnt it be a good idea to put a filter on the BOV? or is sucking dirt into the engine through the BOV acceptable.

Thats a good point ..... I'm gonna have to go start my car and put my hand on the BOV and see if its suckin in ....
