Default Help with turbo drain!!! Help Please

Alright heres the deal.
I have a SOHC with a Holset H1E, with a Mini ram manifold.
The problem im having is I cant get the drain hose to work.
Its like the turbo sits so low that the hose would have to point upward to be at the top of the oil pan.
The oulet on the turbo is a 45 and the one into the pan is a straight fitting.

Now the ? is, is there any other way that the hose can go?
Im pretty stuck right now.
Here are some pics so ya'll will know what im talking about.

Thanks for looking

Yeah that last pic would work but that would put the fitting halfway down the pan not up top like its supposed to be.
The one above that would be that way if the fitting was at the top of the pan.
You see what im saying?

I dont know if it wont work, ive just always been told that the fitting in the pan needs to be as far up as possible, not in the middle

I'll take a couple of pics of what I did as soon as the camera charges. What I did was I took the aluminum flange and had a piece of aluminum tubing welded to it to give me the angle I needed. 45* is not enough and 90* is too much. Another thing is you have to clock your turbo about 15-20* so that the drain is pointed more towards the pan. I'll get those pics up in a little bit.

Actually I already had some pics. In the second pic it doesnt look welded all the way around but its also welded on the inside. Another thing is I had to put to bolt in there first before it was welded or else you wont be able to get the bolt in. The pipe will get in the way.

I cant really clock mine the downpipe is already done for the way I have it now.
But I thought not having the turbo straight up and down is bad for the turbo.
Maybe Im mistaken.

You can clock the center of the turbo. Its not going to change the position of the downpipe. Clocking the center is fine up to a certain angle. CLocking it is the only way its going to work.

Looking at my pictures, even if I clock it, the drain tube is still lower than where the fitting in the pan would go.

Can I just put the fitting where it kinda has a downward angle to it?

Putting the oil pan fitting at a downward angle wont work either. The oil wont be able to work its way up. Just clock the turbo and have a piece of aluminum tubing welded to the flange and bend it to the angle you need.

Looks like it'll hit about 3/4 down the pan.

That's a huge turbo for a SOHC. Can you post a pic of it at a front angle please? what size turbo is it?
And are you standing on your car to take that top pic? lol i swear i see your feet!

i understand. I've been there with it. You can clock the turbo 15-20ish degrees safely. I dont have the exact same manifold but it hangs low as crap. It Took some figuring to do becuase I had 10an fitting so that made it have less room. I had to order a $40 low profile fitting to finally make it work. After clocking the turbo at the center cartridge and using my short 90 gave it almost like a 45 degree angle. if that makes since.

for your case, clock the turbo a few degrees then aim the plug as high as you can with the best drain you can get. as long as it has a slight drain you will be fine and it wont back up. take the oil pan off and see where the upper base where the baffle is on the oil pan make it and you will be good.

Well i clocked the turbo a bit.
Didnt get to get a pic cause it has been raining the past few days.
But I think it will work.
I just hope the fitting that will be in the pan wont hit the baffling inside the pan.

The turbo is a Holset H1E.
And it is big, The housing on it is huge but the inside really isnt that big.
I think its between a .58 and a .63 A/R turbo.
Its supposed to be at full boost by 4000 rpm's, at least I hope so.

Is that regular rubber hose ? If so get rid of it, it will soften up and explode.

i never really relized that it sat that low because of the manifold i just always thought it was the big *** turbo.
Hmm oh well.
I got a really good deal on the manifold so it is ok I will just make it work.
